Chillin’ with Adam with John Lennon and J.B. Body
In this mindbendingly candid visit, John Lennon describes life under the care of a stern aunt who removed him from the mother he described as a ‘free spirit like him;’ lack of control over his career as one of the Beatles; and life with Yoko Ono, enlightenment, and his early exit.
“My aunt, though I loved her, would never allow me to be who I was. In time, I went into music because it was my way of expressing my frustrations and my anger and my insecurities. Although the music career was very successful, it never gave me the feeling of fulfillment. It never gave me the feeling of being truly happy. Believe it or not, fatherhood gave me more joy and more fulfillment than the music career ever did.” — John Lennon
The addition of our second special ghost, John Benjamin Body, was a matter of serendipity and perfect timing. John Lennon didn’t seem to mind sharing the stage. After all, IT WAS ONE HELLUVA STORY!
Last week, my mother shared a story from the local newspaper about a man named J.C. Brown, a retired mining engineer from Stockton, California, who claimed to have found riches inside Mt. Shasta. He was to return on June 9, 1934 for 80 Stocktonians who had signed onto an archeological expedition to go deep inside the mountain. According to the newspaper, “Many Stocktonians had sold their houses and quit jobs, expecting to become rich and famous, like Lord Carnavon had done a decade earlier by discovering the treasure-filled tomb of Tutankhamen.”
It seems J.C. Brown’s true identity had been discovered by a reader who, after reading an earlier article by the same reporter about Brown, decided to do further research. I’m about to serve up a hot dish of Déjà vu.
Last week, newspaper columnist, Michael Fitzgerald reported the case closed. Finding Brown’s true identity still doesn’t explain why the man we now know as John Benjamin Body, who never took a cent from any of those people, failed to return for them as promised. I’ve experienced the magic of Mt. Shasta, first-hand. If I shared what I saw in Mt. Shasta in 2011, no one would believe me either. That’s the main reason I’m saving it for the book. I’ve discovered that incredible things seem less incredible sandwiched between other incredible things.
Mr. Fitzgerald concluded last week’s article with, “But why? Who does that? Powered, perhaps, by energy from the vortex surrounding Mount Shasta we’ll find answers one day.”
The eighty-third anniversary of the day J.B. Body became the “flim-flam” man who pulled off the biggest ruse in Stockton history, simply by failing to appear as promised, was June 9, 2017. Episode #9 of Chillin’ with Adam was due to be recorded the day before. It seemed only fair to allow J.B. Body the opportunity to tell his side of the story.
As it turns out, Mr. Fitzgerald is quite intuitive himself. The proof is inside the mountain.
